About us – Nzbettingtips
Betting tips are a product that sells certainty nobody has, and this site takes the opposite line. It reads tips as opinions, shows the arithmetic behind prices and lays out what the New Zealand law allows. No bet is taken, no tip is sold and no return is promised.
What is not offered
Picks marked "sure", "banker" or "guaranteed" are not published, and no income is promised. The site gives no legal or tax advice.
Where legal status comes from
Tips are worthless without a lawful place to bet, so the legal facts are checked first. Since 28 June 2025 TAB NZ has been the only provider allowed to offer racing and sports betting to people in New Zealand, using the brands TAB and Betcha. The Department of Internal Affairs and the legislation pages, covering the Racing Industry Act 2020 and the Racing Industry Amendment Act 2025, supply the facts. Because the market has one lawful provider, no register of bookmakers exists. The Department treats an overseas company offering these bets as breaking the law, and the law targets the operator, not the punter. Any ranking position is only that, never a licence.
How sources are used
Provider facts are drawn from the provider’s terms, help pages and footers. Statutes and public bodies provide the legal facts. Odds and offers shift quickly, so a stated figure is tied to when and where it applied. When sources give out, the text describes the matter in words and invents no number.
Readers
The material addresses adults in New Zealand, as betting with TAB NZ requires age 18. The Gambling Helpline and Safer Gambling Aotearoa are there for anyone whose betting has grown beyond what was planned.
